[Crocuses on Comm Ave, Boston; 4/4/15]
We saw crocuses and snowdrops this weekend in the city. And the participants in the annual anime convention strolled the Prudential Center mall, all indoors as it was mostly too chilly and windy to venture out. In previous years, they've congregated in the courtyard to do Cosplay and pose for pictures. The convention always seems to take place on Easter weekend - the first year we noticed them, a few dark characters crossed paths with parishioners in Easter finery in front of the Trinity Church at Copley like matter and anti-matter.

On Saturday night, we went to a beach-themed party out in Jamaica Plain, where they turned up the heat, put Annette Funicello-Frankie Avalon Bikini Beach movies on, and served sangria and pineapple hors d'oeuvres. We walk through the Pru on our way to and from the subway station, so we got to see many of the anime kids (they were mostly young) wandering the mall on both trips.
We were out for a bit on Sunday, but came back to have Easter dinner at D's. I decided to get a pork tenderloin instead of the usual Easter ham, and we celebrated with the recent spring release from our favorite local craft brewer Pretty Things: Fluffy White Rabbits.
This morning, it's chilly again: 37°F (<3°C) though it's expected to warm up to around 50°F or so (~10°C). It's a slow start, but headed for spring...
We seem to be always approaching Spring but never reaching it. It has been so hard a winter that the absence of snow banks are to be celebrated.
