On this day of a Full Snow Moon, we are full up with snow and still digging out. After the blizzard that dumped 2+ feet of snow here last week, we got hit with another storm all day yesterday that left another foot, and no place to put it. What the neighbors downstream of us pushed out from their driveway into the street was swept up by the plow last night and pushed 3 feet high in front of my driveway. After two trips out yesterday while the snow was still falling to shovel the steps, the walkway, and around the cars, I cried "uncle" and left the snow wall stand in front of my car until I could be rescued. I have plenty of food in the house, so I could probably hold out until Spring!
[The scene yesterday during the storm]
I was rescued this morning, though I'd already resolved to spend another day working from home. I went out after breakfast to shovel again and clear off the cars, and then a neighbor with a snowblower came over and chipped away at the snow wall and finally broke through. My landlords also eventually came round with their snowblower and cleared the whole driveway. So all's well - aside from the giant snow piles one has to peer around to move about when driving. At least until the next storm. I'm hearing another 3 to 5 inches on Thursday, and the threat of more on Monday. After a rather dry and snowless winter until this point, we are making up for it all in spades over these couple of weeks. Already we've had enough.
The 'No' message sums it up very well. Hope you stay safe and warm with a cupboard full of food.
