Cars stopped on Hanover
the Feast of Agrippina
a marching band plays

On the waterfront
by the old crumbling pier
geraniums bloom

*

Speedboats through the channel
old truss bridge swings slowly back
a man unlocks the gate

*

Skyscrapers spring up
around the old fish pier
seagulls wheel

*

Below the new cafes
clamshells litter the dock
seagull bistro
