I was just shutting down my pc and turning off my television last night when the election was being called for Obama. My faithful Facebook friends were posting while hanging on their TVs for the latest reports. I was just so tired. It was looking good, and then reports of Obama having won the electoral votes he needed, so I went to bed contented.
I'm still waking on standard time, alas going to bed on daylight savings time, and not sleeping all that soundly in-between. It's not helping my neck muscle issues, nor is the onset of colder weather. I went to a chiropractor for the 12 visits that my insurer covers most of. A new guy, more gentle than the last one who pushed my muscle spasms into orbit last summer, costing me more than a week of work and taking much longer than that to recover from. But perhaps the new guy is too gentle, because I have no less pain than I started with. I've decided not to cough up the full payments to continue.
I did finally open a viniyoga dvd I've had for awhile but never used that concentrates on upper back and neck problems. The first time I used it last week I was in tears, so stiff and painful where I used to be able to do all kinds of asanas with little problem. But the next day I did actually feel better. Still, I put off using it again until I hit my final chiropractor appointment on Monday and realized I had to choose whether to continue to throw money at it or try something else. So last night, in the early hours of election results coming in, I turned my tv to the dvd setting and did one of the viniyoga therapy sessions. And I felt better. I did it again tonight, and I'm going to see how it goes. Tomorrow afternoon I also have a massage session I scheduled about two months ago, using the final of three discount coupons with her I bought back in June. I'm looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, D is still in sunny, warm Florida, missing today's nor'easter, which brought the first snow to the region. It was blowing sideways in the strong wind this afternoon. Very little has accumulated and it will likely melt by tomorrow. The weekend looks sunny and warmer. I guess D will bring a little sunshine and warmth back with him on Saturday afternoon when he returns from Florida. As far as I'm concerned, he would regardless of the weather.
