[Boston Common Tree Lighting, Fireworks; 11/29/12]
We made it to the Boston Common Tree Lighting event last night, which attracted a sizeable crowd of all ages on a chilly night. We saw a bit of the entertainment -- singers, a band from Nova Scotia (whence the tree), a dancing Frosty the Snowman, and a dancing bear from the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker production. Conductor Keith Lockhart of the Boston Pops led a singalong of a couple of Christmas carols. Mayor Menino, recovering from several weeks in the hospital, sent an audio (perhaps video, I couldn't see) greeting from Spalding Rehab. A burst of fireworks went off when the tree was lit. Then we headed down through the Public Garden towards the Commonwealth Ave Mall for that lighting. But it was oh so cold with the gusty winds. The Taj Hotel with its cozy bar overlooking the Public Garden was oh so close. And pricey, alas, but we ducked in and snagged good seats near the windows, and each had a nice glass of wine before venturing back into the cold to get home.

And so I celebrate the end of NaBloPoMo! Congrats to all to managed to post every day this month.
Congratulations on finishing NaBloPoMo! It was all I could manage to do to simply *read* 30 posts in 30 days. :-)
