[Spent daisies; November 9, 2010]
I was more sociable in my dreams last night than I was at work all day. My dream colleagues and I hung out happily, convivially, whereas many of my actual colleagues were away traveling or in meetings or, well, I was keeping to myself because of my workload and my cold germs. By the end of a long day mutely shuffling references around for a tedious project with a too-tight a deadline I was feeling quite sorry for myself.
I did get out for a walk after lunch to clear my head a bit. The sunshine, however bright and warm, shines noticeably lower in the sky already by 2pm. Patches of snow from this weekend's storm dot the shadows. A few bedraggled daisies and cosmos remain to feed the hungry bees before winter sets in. I tried out a little piece of haiku on Twitter when I came back in:
Bees swarm
the fading blossoms,
summer's leftovers.
Bon courage.
I do like the photo.

Your writing is so evocative - I miss it when you can't write very often.
Yes, bon courage.
