[Ingrid sees something interesting; 12 noon, 7/22/07]
Cranky yesterday, and edgy for several days. Stressed. Not enough solid sleep. My clothes are falling off me; I've lost a dozen pounds or more since winter. Had a nice visit with friends Friday night after work, but back to off-center when I woke up Saturday. Another trip back to the condo was irritating for many reasons (although the good part was that the tenants drove up to sign the lease and get the keys, etc.). Got home around 5pm and dragged the few remaining boxes upstairs. The summer - my favorite season, the shortest - is flying by. I dug my beach bag out of the closet, threw on my bathing suit, grabbed a sand chair, and drove to Walden... 15 minutes away, and it was heaven. Absolute heaven. And I slept almost 10 hours last night.
I managed to buy paint in my travels yesterday, so this morning I moved most of the furniture out of my bedroom, draped everything else, taped up the edges, and painted. It looks nice, especially with the furniture back in. Now, I'm thinking about another trip out to Walden. I bought a season pass.

Walden was full up, alas. Sigh. Consoling myself with the fudge Lorianne brought me Friday night. (Hm, there may even be margaritas left in the frig...) At least the weather is superb, with cool breezes blowing through. Guess I'll have to settle for another lovely evening on the porch.
Ingred is engaged.
Hang in. Glad you got some sleep.

Glad your weather is wonderful yet you have cooling breezes. Walden sounds wonderful, must be a popular swinmming beach?
Great too, that you've now rented out your other place, so you can relax a bit.

Yes, fudge can be dangerous, with or without margaritas. It's a good, almost-guaranteed way to re-gain those pounds you lost. I'm glad it's serving its intended "medicinal" purpose. :-)

Ingrid looks like a little person balanced up on two legs peering out at the world!

The Bostonian and I spent a lovely day at Walden Pond. It was truly a transcendental trip and very inspiring. In fact it was discovering Thoreau that set off the train of events that led to my quitting the Rat Race and moving to France!
"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them"
or words to that effect

Hey! I see you moved while I was away --congratulations on the new place! From the photos, it looks lovely and light-filled.

Ingrid!!!!! Oh, how cute she is! (What would I do without the internet letting me ogle other people's pets? Am I an interpet stalker?)
Friends who bring you fudge are worth holding onto. But you knew that. ;)

Thanks, Zhoen. Sleep is a good thing.
Marja-Leena: Yes, Walden is very popular - a bit too popular yesterday, alas.
Lorianne: Yes, and thank you, doctor.
Planethalder: She *is* a little person!
Mouse: Wow, a momentous trip to Walden for you! I bet you're not alone in responding to that call, but not sure how many ended up in France. I take it the Bostonian was left behind?
Hi Ana. Yes, It was very fast, and I've had the equivalent of whiplash to prove it. But it is a lovely place - the light is amazing some days here.
Sara: Ingrid is very cute. She brings us daily vitamins of smiles and chuckles. And yes on the fudge-foisting friends.

Greeting Leslee
There are many old hippies here in France, it's rather wonderful because the more 'unusual' you are the more the Bretons love you!
The Bostonian was too often distracted by someone closer to home so yes, I left him way behind
