I'm thinking a lot about the new year, changes, what I want for myself. About getting my ducks in a row, so to speak. I awoke a couple of days ago with the word "refurbished" on my lips. Some years I'm indefinite about resolutions - I'd like to do more of this, a little less of that. This year I feel the need to rebuild, restructure. Yes, perhaps refurbish. Line up what matters, polish them up.
I feel the same way. Another chance to get it right...
Happy New Year, Leslee!

Yes, me too! Though... refurbish makes me think of something old, that you want to make look young again, like, like, er- a makeover!
No no, I don't want THAT! And you don't need it.
Leslee, Happy New Year - may all your ducks line up!

Get here, slippery ducks! Here, ducky ducky.
For me, any two ducks standing next to each other constitute a row. But I hear you: the need for more order in one's life. Some more order wouldn't hurt me. Time to make some resolutions...

GREAT PIC Leslee. Very nice. Yeah, we've been thinking the same thing, all the way...ducks in a row...good thoughts.

Gracias, Ernesto. Prospero año!
Marja-Leena: I want to dust off things underused, bring to the fore things stuffed in the back of the closet, so to speak. I ain't talkin' about my face! (although the bod needs some maintenance...)
Teju: Yes, slippery beasts. In need of re-sorting and a bit of gentle herding.
Bob: Thanks. Good luck with your ducks!

How jealous am I that you live close to Walden Pond? Very, my friend. Very.
I like your "refurbishing" frame very much. When I was a kid growing up in Southern California, we visited Disneyland often and were always annoyed when our favorite attractions were "closed for refurbishing." But now, I think it's a capital ideal. I think I'll close for refurbishing on a regular basis in the coming year, perhaps just before each New Moon...

Thanks, April. But see, you do have Disneyland! ;-) I think the shutting down for refurbishing or maintenance or whatever sounds like a good plan. Somewhere in the mess that is my home office (hm...resolutions) there's beautiful moon calendar a friend gave me...
