Inspired by last night's rain...
Bridge Out
Between wiper beats, a sign:
Bridge Out – again
the righteous path denied.
Errant, left to bushwhack
past the tried and washed out,
I drive in a blinding torrent,
maddeningly wayward,
white picket fenced out:
No Access.
But later, in the expansive
gap between clouds, a light:
a common moon, the wide sky.
---
Ah, Leslee, I really love that last stanza -- especially "a common moon, the wide sky." Nice. :)

I like the way the poem starts and ends with looking between, each with a completely different feel. I, too, liked the last line very much.

Thanks, Lisa and moose.
Yes, I think I may have been influenced by a discussion of gaps and spaces I read not long ago.
