Yes, I too am always inspired, if on occasion somewhat daunted :-), by Ernesto's overflowing talent and energy, and am very, very glad to be among his readers. I absolutely loved both the poems you mention and forwarded 'hubiera' and to everyone I know who reads Spanish. (Do they teach you the hubiera form as well as hubiese when you learn Spanish in the States? I remember I never learned it at school) Love yours here too - another budding bilingual poet, gosh.

Yes, daunted is a good word! The Hubiera poem has a couple of English translations that Ernesto posted - not sure if you saw those. I'd never heard the hubiese form, just hubiera (same with quisiera), but I don't have much formal training. My goal was to learn conversational Spanish, and pick up grammar in the process. (I had only learned grammatic French in school and couldn't hold a basic conversation.) Anyway, I'm losing my basic conversational Spanish lately from disuse! Need to find *some* way to practice. :-)
