And now, a break from the Mexico stories!...
Late yesterday afternoon I headed west on the Mass. Pike out to Northampton, aka NoHo, for a spontaneous meetup with Lorianne, Rachel and Andi. Lorianne and Rachel were there for a Women Practicing Buddhism conference at Smith College (my alma mater) and Lorianne, aka Miss Congeniality, emailed Rachel and me inviting us to join them for dinner. It appears that we converged on NoHo from all points of the compass: Lorianne from north in Keene, Andi was south in Rhode Island at the Providence Zen Center (and soon to be Far East in Korea as she heads off to pursue ordination as a Buddhist nun), Rachel arrived from west in the Berkshires, and I drove about an hour from east in Central Mass - proving that Northampton is the Center of the Known Universe.
Rachel posted a great account of our meetup here, and Lorianne here. So I will just post a photo of the four of us at a Mexican restaurant in NoHo - which we went to because, you know, I haven't had enough Mexican food lately. ;-)

Shouldn't I get a tiara or ribbon or *something* that proclaims my status as Miss Congeniality? ;-)

Absolutely. We'll have to work on that...

Sandra Bullock got combat boots, didn't she? I vote for combat books.
(And I'm oh so curious . . . what restuarant are you in front of? Angelina's? Fitzwilly's? You've made me miss my former home.)

I'm not Zen Mama does combat boots, but we can always ask her.
We're inside La Veracruzana (on the same block as Fitzwilly's). I'm not sure what's across the street with the neon palm trees!
