The nor'easter tacked a bit to the west, directly over us instead of out over the ocean, so there's not enough cold wet air for snow, at least not where I am. Ski country up north is going to get plenty. We may get a few inches later on, but now it's just drizzly and gloomy, with the continuing drip of melt off the roof.
It's getting to be ugly season around here. Dirty snow, mud. I'm recalling an old Greg Brown song, "Help Me Make it Through This Funky Day":
It look like February 19th and November 8th
They had an ugly little baby and they're gonna call it Today
Yes indeed.
I had a moment of missing winter reading that.
Then it passed. I'm sitting here in my robe with the back door open so the rabbit can go in and out. In a minute I'm going for a walk. See ya!

We had a spot of snow earlier: huge fluffy white flakes. Now it's drizzly "wintry mix." The sidewalks & streets are slushy, the sort of stuff you *mop* more than shovel.
With last night's rain & over a week of snowmelt, the soil is completely saturated. I'm waiting for the floods!

Yes, time to get out your Wellies, if not your hip waders.
By the way, the Wellington boot just turned 50.

And I am complaining about a slight chill in the air in the morning here, where the sun, obliging as ever, just took care of it for me.
If my older son does go to college back east next fall, I guess, I'll be getting a bit of that winter taste myself soon!
