A mix of sun and clouds, and a mix of friends and quiet time. A good balance for my free weekend as D was away on his annual trip to Florida with the guys (although the wife of the friend with the Florida house was there this time, likely spoiling the guy time to a good degree, plus D came down with a cold as soon as he got there). I walked with people from my old walking group on Saturday morning, turned down spending the evening out with some of them to stay home alone and read -- my major treat for the weekend. I had brunch plans today with a friend, with a nice walk to and from bundled in. Perfect.
We're heading into a very demanding period of time at work. Our clients need to spend their budgets before the end of the year or lose next year's funding. So the time our bodies want to wind down and hibernate will be filled with extra work and all that holiday hoohah. Not that I mind the holiday hoohah part, but it makes me tired just thinking of it all. I didn't sleep well last week, and was sick with a cold the previous week, so sleep is the golden treasure right now. I slept as much as I could this weekend, took naps both days. Hopefully the rest will hold me in good stead this coming week.
D comes back mid-week and immediately has company arriving from out of town. We'll hang out with them Friday night and Saturday, but I think they're off to visit other people starting Sunday. I probably like to socialize more than D does, but we both need copious downtime. Hopefully the coming weeks will provide a respectable balance.
