I worked at home today, free of meetings and commuting traffic, and the need to get dressed and be presentable. It gave me time to finally remove the air conditioners from my windows and deposit them in the basement. I called my landlords and asked for the window screens to be re-installed and also for new hinges to replace broken ones on one of my kitchen cabinet doors. So they dropped by after lunch, bearing a paper bag full of fresh tomatoes from their garden. The sun was shining with its October slant, the air fair and fresh blowing through my windows. I got a lot of work done, but also had time for a short walk. I am lucky my manager is fine with people working from home - she does it herself and needs no explanations of our whereabouts. (Such a change from my last employer.) We all have plenty of work and deadlines to meet. A day working from home can save one's sanity sometimes.
My realtor emailed me late this afternoon to say that the carpets, freshly cleaned yesterday, look great. (I prodded to ask if the paint job D and I did on Saturday looked okay too, and she said "great!" so I'll accept it - we were a bit worried as it looked somewhat spotty when we left, maybe just not fully dry yet.)
The sky is blush pink as the sun has already set, the moon a pale sliver. When I look again it's already dark.
