[Sunflower bud; 9am, 7/11/09]
I was inspired by Lorianne's florets and buds (and her excellent post) this morning to grab my oft-toted pocket camera and take a quick shot of the sunflower buds opening in front of my apartment. I was out of town for the last couple of days, but it was sunny here and will be at least party sunny today and tomorrow, so hopefully they'll open soon.
Alas, I have to work today, but with any luck I will have tomorrow free to enjoy. We're in a big push for a client's product launch meeting in early August, which means there may be more weekend work involved, no doubt just in time for the weather to clear (sigh). But I may be able to grab a few extra free weekday hours while the clients are reviewing, and I have a couple of vacation days booked the end of the month and a couple more in August, so I will get to savor some of our all-too-short New England summer.
Love the photo! I almost went out to take some of my budding echinaceas, inspired by Lorianne's photos too. Hope you don't get overworked, Leslee!
