Charles River/Beacon Hill Sunday

I met up with friends yesterday to do the Beacon Hill Art Walk, which was a lot of fun, especially on a gorgeous first day of June. After browsing the tree-lined brick streets, alleys and courtyards for art, artists and scenery, we refreshed ourselves at a local pub and then walked off our burgers along the Charles River Esplanade. I got home much later than planned, but with the sun staying up so late and the weather so perfect, time slipped away.

Tired today, and much going on. I put a deposit on an apartment tonight, still a bit freaked out at having to pay so much at once - first month, last month, security deposit worth another month... and rents so high here. Sigh. It's a nice place and the landlords, while very particular about their property, do seem nice and the place is well maintained. I think it'll be okay. Just... all a bit anxiety provoking. Will say more about the apartment when the lease is signed and when I've stopped hyperventilating.

So I won't say more about yesterday's lovely day, but you can see more of my photos here, and read Lorianne's account and see her photos that she linked to.

Good news about the apartment but fully understand about the anxiety, both monetary and other. At least with deposits there is the prospect of getting the cash back at some point! Big changes .....

I was talking with my sister the other day who is a planning a possible visit to NY - her first. I said it was great and not to be missed but I had never been to Boston and really would like to go one day. The words and pictures here make me want to save my pennies all the more. :-)

Good news on the apartment, though of course these initial commitments can be somewhat outfreaking!

Great pictures, here and previous.

Oh, wonderful news about the apartment! I plan on being in the area in a few weeks, want to get together for a walk I am typing in the dark, and can't find the period key or the question mark!

MM: If you ever get to Boston, let me know! Yes, the deposits are a lot (although my landlord just offered to let me pay one of them at the end of July). It's more that the monthly rents are so high, and I won't be sharing anymore. Things are going to be very tight.

Lucy: Thanks!

Joanna: Would love to get together! I'm likely to be mid-move since my lease will start July 1st, but hopefully we can make it work. Let me know when you're coming!

Exciting... crossing my fingers for you that it all works out as you hope and need. :-)
