Mother's Day 2006, Boston

The game at Fenway was rained out, but brunch at the Harvard Club with my friend CA was still on. So we ventured into town, enjoyed the nice brunch spread - both of us motherless for the day - then did a quick tour around the city in the pouring rain. I couldn't resist a quick jaunt into the Public Garden to take photos, my umbrella keeping my camera dry if not my shoes and pantlegs.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Hope yours was sunny, in spirit if not in weather.

ours was intense...

you went to harvard? YOU WENT TO HARVARD?????

No, dear. I went to Smith. My friend went to Harvard and is member at the Club.

Sorry you had such a wet weekend, but sounds like a pleasant one nevertheless in the company of friends. Lovely photos.

Now that IS rain. Goodness! A brilliantly sunny day here, thanks. Wish I could send you some but it doesn't seem to work that way, no matter how I try.

Thanks, Marja-Leena.

MB: Yeah, a guy I know has been emailing me photos from the desert in California. Doesn't make it any drier here.

I hear rumors we may actually see some sun on Wednesday. We'll see...

Are you all okay up there? The news makes it look like New Hampshire is floating into the Atlantic, with Boston right behind it.

Heh. I haven't had on the TV news lately - they're having a field day, best weather event since the last blizzard. I'm sure it's pretty serious in some places. Just wet here where I live in central Mass. It's just showers and damp overcast.

I hope you have a little rowboat handy. The weather looks awful out your way. I see pictures on the news and think of you and wonder, "Is she able to post blog entries? Can she post?"

I'm not near any of the flooded areas. That's 50-100 miles northeast of here, along the Merrimack River in NH/MA. We're not exactly dry, but there's no flooding here. Just dampened spirits!

I love your photos. Such a lovely place, the one you live in.

Thanks, Ernesto. Glad you like them. It is pretty here at this time of year in particular.
