Me and My Shadow
The night before last I dreamed I was heading downstairs into the semi-dark basement when this huge black Great Dane bounded up the stairs at me, barking. I said, "Hi Shadow." I kid you not. (Paging Dr. Jung...) He turned and thumped back down the steps, and I followed him. I patted his head as he ran around. "Hi Shadow. Hi boy!" He whimpered in that excited-dog way instead of the deep warning barks. Just a big oversized puppy after all.

Cool dream! I wonder what Jung would say about it?

I wonder what Andre Braugher would say about it.
(He's black, and he played the great Dane- "Hamlet.")

Heh. I love Andre Braugher. Intense. I've heard him interviewed. He might have something very interesting to say about it.
Lassie would run like hell from this beast.
Jung said our shadow is our opposite personality, no? I'm not very fierce in my waking life. But then again, maybe secretly I am. I believe it's supposed to be good to befriend one's shadow.

Just catching up on things here, Leslee, and I particularly like this post.
All in all, things sound auspicious, and especially the dream ... sounds signficant to me, all about not being frightened of things that initially seem very threatening??
Good luck with everything and enjoy the ride ...

Thanks, Mary. Who knows. (Feeling waterlogged and poor today. Need work now!)

This has literally happened to me. I used to live in an apartment building, and one of the tenants kept his huge dog in the basement (unknown to me). I was on my way down there to do my laundry, and the dog came running up the stairs to greet me. Almost had a heart attack. Luckily, it was a very friendly dog.

Oo, that would be scary. Basements are scary by nature, I think, even with nothing in them. Maybe it's too many movies, or more likely the movies play on our natural fear of the basement. Attics can be creepy, but not in the same way.
