These are very cool. Are they all designed to be sat on?

Yes they are! There's another sculpture right in front of the Instituto that's set up like a living room (I think it's the Salon de Magos) that's also very cool. We sat on them the first evening we arrived, but the next day they had people all over them so we didn't take pictures.
